The group Sustainable Process Technology (SPT) is a research unit of the faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Twente. Our research focuses on the development of new processes, advanced separation techniques and new reactors and contactors, combined with a deeper understanding of the underlying fundamentals with respect to chemical reactions, heat and mass transfer and their interplay.

The SPT group has currently the following position available:

1) a Post-doc position (2 years) devoted to producing chemical frombiomass via thermo-chemical conversions. [refer to as post-doc-bio-chemicals].

Your Profile

We are looking for candidates with following qualifications • PHD (for the post-docs) in Chemical Engineering, Bio- (process-) technology, Mechanical Engineering or Applied Physics • Strong background in Transport Phenomena • Experienced in both Modeling and experimental (process-) research• Education and/or relevant work experience in (Western) Europe or US; • Fluent in English (written and spoken) and good communication skills • Team worker, but independent thinking researcher at the same time. • Result oriented, creative thinking and systematic working • an entrepreneurial spirit and a hands-on mentality.

An interview and a scientific presentation will be part of the selection process.

Our offer

As a Post Doc you will be offered a full-time (38 hours/week) position for two years. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Collective Labour (CAO) of the Dutch Universities. Gross monthly salary depends on experience and qualifications and ranges from
