A postdoctoral position is available at Drs. Xing and Cardona’s laboratories, College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Minnesota at Twin Cities, to work on molecular virology, pathogenesis and immunity of emerging bunyaviruses including SFTSV and Heartland virus or avian influenza viruses.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. or equivalent with strong expertise in immunology and/or virology, and be proficient in molecular and cell biology techniques. Experience working on virus-host interaction, reverse genetics, innate or cell-mediated immunity is a plus. Individuals who are self-motivated with solid virology background are encouraged to apply. Our laboratories have a number of exciting ongoing projects related to viral immune evasion and pathogenesis (J. Virol 2014, PMID:24335286; J. Virol. 2012, PMID:22623799; FASEB J. 2014, PMID:24599967).

This is a one-year project and renewal is possible pending on performance and funding availability.
