A postdoctoral Research Associate position is available for an outstanding and ambitious robotics engineer to undertake research in the field of remote characterisation of legacy nuclear facilities, particularly the development and deployment of the AVEXIS underwater vehicles for use in wet storage ponds.

You should have, or be working towards, a PhD or equivalent in robotics or mechatronics. Expertise in the practical development of robotic systems and system integration along with a track record of organising and running field trials are essential. You should be capable of working under your own initiative as well as working with a small research team and industrial collaborators, so excellent communication and organisational skills are also required. The position is based in Workington, Cumbria, so a full UK driving licence is necessary.
