The position will continue studies that have identified small molecules that block fatty acid import to prevent lipotoxic disease including non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and type 2 diabetes. Expertise in chemistry and pharmacological analysis of small molecules is required and a working knowledge of lipid metabolism and rodent handling is preferred. A PhD (or equivalent) in biochemistry or related field is required as well as publications in peer-reviewed journals demonstrating expertise in biochemistry and pharmaceutical science.
