Position Description

A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine under the supervision of Drs. Jinqiang Zhang and Tong Wu. The research program focuses on investigating the molecular, epigenetic, and immunoregulatory mechanisms underlying liver cancer, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (iCCA).

Current projects investigate chromatin regulation, oncogenic signaling pathways, tumor metabolism, and tumor microenvironment interactions using a combination of cellular and molecular biology approaches, genome editing technologies, next-generation sequencing, and genetically engineered mouse models of hepatobiliary carcinogenesis.

Research areas include, but are not limited to:

• Epigenetic regulation and chromatin remodeling
• Cancer metabolism and signaling pathways
• Tumor immunology and tumor microenvironment
• Functional genomics and genome editing

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in cancer biology, cancer immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related biomedical field.

Preferred qualifications include experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Epigenetics and chromatin biology
• Cancer immunology
• Mouse models of cancer
• Genomic or transcriptomic data analysis (e.g., scRNA-seq, ATAC-seq, CUT&Tag/CUT&RUN)
• Bioinformatics or computational biology

Candidates should demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and a record of scholarly productivity.
